How do I get rid of lily beetle?

Argh they're destroying my beautiful lilies which are going to flower soon.... help

How do I get rid of lily beetle?
Well my mum hates using sprays and stuff so what she does is simply get an old jam jar or something simular and put them in there.

They are very sensitve to movement mind so you have to be clever, they usually hide on the underside of the leaves so place the jar underneath the leath and tap the top with the lid. They fall off really easily, because when they feel threatened and drop instead of flying off like most bugs do.if you do do this tell me how many you managed to get on one plant. When we first discovered them our plant was smothered, they had riped it to shreddeds but now it looks as healthy as anything.

Good luck
Reply:try spraying with soapy water or failing that a drop of jeyes fluid in water i swear by it, it seems to get rid of everything
Reply:At night times, I sprayed them with bugs spray. I put up a security light at the corner of my house. It low enough for me. The bugs love that light.
Reply:believe that at present there is no known cure. The best this to do is to be very much aware of these creatures and squash them, but they are sometimes difficult to get hold of and appear to see you coming and scurry and hide, believe me, I've had them. You have to be as cunning as they are. Catch them in a glass jar then kill them.
