What animal eats Asiatic lily?

some animal or something has eaten my asiatic lilies to the ground. anybody got any ideas about what it is?

What animal eats Asiatic lily?
OK here goes with several answers to this one. I know from experience and the question of killing and getting rid of chipmunk that chipmunks will eat the bulbs. As for the plants themselves I say rabbits that have no forage. They like the tender leaves of the plant. Deer too will eat then since they are indeed tasty to them. I would try putting out some alfalfa hay some where off the property but close by if you can. Give then an alternative food source if possible. Hope this helps some, also spreading around some blood meal you can get at any good garden center will help they hate the smell of it.
Reply:If you live on the East Coast of the U.S. you may have a small Bright Red Beetle that hides in the cool earth during the day and comes out evening through early morning and devistates Asiatic Lilys! Asiatic Lily Beetle! Report It

Reply:My guess is definitely the beetle since they showed up in our yard about 3 years ago and can strip the plants leaves very fast. This year I am keeping them at bay by sparying them when ever I see them.
Reply:It's called the Lily Leaf beatle.

Reply:deer will eat lillies. Your question would be better answered if you let us know what wildlife is in your area.
Reply:I agree that it is the lily leaf beetle. Slugs could never work that fast!
