Cant I split one Calla Lily plant in to two? please help I have no green thumb!?

can I do this with out killing the plant. I just bought the plant and it has blooms partially open and its about a foot tall right now I am keeping it in a pot on my front porch Because I live in a upsairs apartment with a large patio please tell me if its hard to do it, if so im not doing it

If you've just bought the bulb and planted it, leave it alone for now at least. Let it grow and flower. When it's done flower and the plant dies down, you could pull it out and see if there are obvious places to split the bulb. Smaller bulbs begin to develop around the outsides of the larger ones. After dividing, it is probably good to let the bulb set out for a few days so it has a chance to heal before putting moist soil against the cut portion...else you may have 2 rotted bulbs on your hands.

Reply:You can do that our simply plant the one and it will multiply by itself. Once you get them started, they will grow like crazy. I keep mine in pots because I don't want them all over my yard. Just plant it very shallow and it will multiply. I sell them for 1 dollar each which pays for the dirt. You should try some other plants too. Check out my plants on my website.
Reply:yes you can split the plant simply cut bulb in half.
