What was the significance in Lily Potters eyes?

I just finished reading the book and I still don't understand, what was the significance?

What was the significance in Lily Potters eyes?
Not that many people have green eyes, most have brown or blue, and not like how her colour eyes are. and then harry inherited her eyes, and he's really special. Also she was the motivation for snape for a lot of things, so her eyes must have been at least part of the reason he loved her!

Also, the eyes are the first thing most people notice about others.....

(The book was brilliant, wasn't it?!?!)
Reply:Basically it reminded Snape that Harry was Lily's son and he loved Lily
Reply:this question has been answered already...
Reply:Well everyone says Harry has Lily's eyes and as snape was dying he probably just wanted one last look into the eyes that were so similar to the one's of the person he loved.
Reply:...but Harry's kid, Albus, had Lilly's eyes, too! He was the only kid to have them!
Reply:That HP was indeed Lily's son.

That he could see good in himself if he saw part of his mother there, Rather then his slytherin ability.
